Zoo Solves Mystery of Celibate Polar Bears

Now, wouldn't one think, with all the money and painstaking care involved in the conservation of polar bears, that someone would have the inkling that checking on the basics should come first..?

*sigh*

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grey Cat
I find that it's easy to get bogged down in daily turmoils and struggles to the point where it often feels like life can be a miserable occupation.  I'm not much for calendar holidays, but still, sometimes they can be a poke in the back to check on one's actual position in the world.

I do have a lot to be thankful for.  I have my friends and family.  I have my wonderful cats.  I have my health, my home and my employment.  Although none of these things are perfect, they are important.

Happy Thanksgiving, and here's hope for another year of things to be thankful for!

Your result for Test Who You Are in the Steampunk Ether City of Salmagundi...

Rook and Spectre (the Cute, Fuzzy Animals)

19% Cerys, 22% Ras, 17% Bell, 21% Wilde, 18% LeClerc, 17% Kendrick and 100% Fuzzy!

You are Rook and Spectre, Chief Inspector Cerys’ two pet mousers (what foreigners might call “ferrets”). You are playful, fun loving, affectionate, and have little understanding of the horrors that lurk outside of your comfortable home. You enjoy small spaces, things with bells, chasing mice and insects, and having your belly rubbed. Perhaps your greatest contribution is reminding Cerys that there is more to life than solving ghastly crimes.

Your result for Test Who You Are in the Steampunk Ether City of Salmagundi...

Arcanist-Major Edmund Ras (the Sorcerer)

19% Cerys, 93% Ras, 37% Bell, 31% Wilde, 14% LeClerc, 13% Kendrick and 3% Fuzzy!

You are Arcanist-Major Edmund Ras of the Praxian Alliance, assigned as liaison to the Legion of Peace. You are a scholar, a scientist, and a sorcerer, in a city that distrusts the first two and despises the third. Though you are kind-hearted and concerned about the betterment of others, the hostility you routinely encounter has left you jaded and sardonic. You have a sharp tongue and a very dark sense of humor, and you delight in mocking those with irrational fears and prejudices. Your outlook on life teeters between the optimistic and the resigned, and you still can’t decide if humanity is worth the trouble. Still, even if humanity is doomed to self-destruction you are willing to risk your life to give it just one more generation.

Your result for The Steampunk Style Test...

The Explorer

18% Elegant, 31% Technological, 30% Historical, 88% Adventurous and 37% Playful!

You are the Explorer, the embodiment of steampunk’s adventuring spirit. For you, clothing should be rugged and reliable, and just as functional as it is attractive. You probably prefer khaki or leather, and your accessories are as likely to include weapons as technological gizmos. You probably wear boots and gloves, and maybe a pith helmet. Most of what you wear is functional, and if you happen to wear goggles people had better believe that you use them. In addition to Victorian exploration gear, your outfit probably includes little knickknacks from your various travels. Above all, you are a charming blend of rugged Victorian daring and exotic curiosity.

Write exactly what's on your mind and don't change anything. Feel free to play along!

I'm tired of:
Being stressed out by little things.

I am listening to:
Evanescence on Pandora

Maybe I should:
Do laundry and clean.

I wish:
I had back the prolific writing habit of my youth.

Chocolate is:
Dangerous.

I have lost my respect for:
Management of any type.

I last ate:
Rice and hamburger.

The meaning of my display name is:
My World of Warcraft main character name...that originated with a failed Everquest character...that originated with a failed MUD character...

Right now I'm craving:
Sweet BBQ steak tips from The Meat House.

Someday:
I will find a real career that pays real money.

Love is:
...apparently avoiding me like the plague.

MySpace is:
Waiting for me to remember to pay attention to it.

Today:
I plan on doing laundry, playing too much WoW and cleaning up my environment some.

Tomorrow:
Campers' Weekend Part One starts here in Maine.  Yep.  I get to work audit when every hotel from Boston to Canada is sold out with nowhere to send the streams of stupid people who didn't make reservations and don't understand why anyone wants to come to Maine.  (Hello...  "Vacationland" and "Why are YOU here?")

I get annoyed:
With people.  Myself included a lot of the time.

Parties:
???  I don't remember what those are.

QUESTIONS:

Is your cell phone right by you?
It's about 10 feet from me, in the bag I used yesterday.

Are you wearing chapstick?
I was.  I think it's worn off since eating.

Are you tired?
Always.

Are you wearing pajamas?
No.  It's summer.  Too hot for that.

Are you mad?
Depends on what meaning of the word...  "We're all mad here."

Are you upset?
Not currently.  Give me time.

FOUR LASTS:

Last beverage?
Sunkist Orange soda.

Last phone call?
Um...probably from work the other night when Steve called out.

Last time you cried?
Officially..?  Probably when Tim stirred me up last.

FIVE HAVE YOU EVER...

Dated someone twice?
Yes.

Been cheated on?
Yes.

Lost someone close?
Not to death.

3 Favorite Colors:
Black, Purple, Green.

THIS MONTH HAVE YOU...

Made a new friend?
Didn't have enough spare parts in the closet this month.

Fallen out of love?
Not that I'm aware of.

Laughed until you almost cried?
Nope.

Is there something you want to tell someone right now?
I'd love to tell off a few folks, but I don't see where it would be very productive.

And story:
You pick:  Inwar's Chosen and Segonia Malia are still available on Amazon!  (If you love me, you'll order the new ones and not the used ones!)

Just how is it we expect the world to show us respect and tolerance if we go around doing stuff like this..?

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/05/17/iraq.quran/index.html

Fine and dandy that we apologized for it...but that doesn't mean a thing.  It should not have happened in the first place.
